STRUCTURE

Affirmative          Subject + Verb + Complement

Refusal                Subject + Auxiliary do/does not + Verb + Complement

Question              Auxiliary do/does + Subject + Verb + Complement

HOW TO CREATE AFFIRMATIVE STATEMENTS

º By using the personal pronouns he, she, it, nouns and proper nouns in the singular, the verb undergoes modifications

º If the verb  ends in X, SH, CH, O, SS and Z, it should be added at the end "es". For example: Fix=Fixes, Whish=Whishes, Watch=Whatches, Miss=Misses, Go=Goes

º If the verb ends in  different combination than the previous one, "s" is added to it at the end. For example: Work=Works, Eat=Eats, Call=Calls, Sleep=Sleeps

º If the verb ends in "y" but first has a constant, the "y" is removed  and "ies" is added to it. For example: Fly=Flies, Study=Studies

º If the verb ends in "y" but first has a vowel, "s" is added at the end. For example: Play=Plays, Pay=Pays

HOW TO CREATE NEGATIVE STATEMENTS

To write sentences in negative, we must use the auxiliary "do" when we use the pronouns "I, You, We, They" and the auxiliary "does" when we use the pronouns "he, she, it", nouns and proper nouns in singular

SO, THE BASIC FORMULA WOULD BE:

Subject + Auxiliary "do" or " does" + NOT + Verb + Complement

HOW TO CREATE QUESTIONS

To ask questions in the simple present, the basic formula varies a bit

Auxiliary "do" or "does" + Subject + Verb + Complement + ?

The are other types of questions, which are called "Wh questions". These are interrogative word that are used to specify the questions and are: Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How

Then the formula to asj questions would remain

Interrogative word + Auxiliary "do" or "does" + Subject + Verb + Complement + ?
